This page includes links to sites with valuable information about sexual abuse and other forms of abuse which commonly occur in situations where there are strong imbalances of power. In most cases of abuse, survivors require many years before they feel safe enough, strong enough, to mention what happened to them. Survivors who are not believed, who are attacked in various ways, suffer additional layers of trauma. Healing can only occur in an environment of trust, understanding, and compassion.
